JanCom has established itself as a leader in the
technology consulting industry by providing Planning
and Design services to a broad client base within
a wide range of industries. JanCom Technologies,
Inc. recognizes the importance of comprehensive
project planning and execution to achieve the functional,
financial, and scheduling goals of each project.
JanCom initiates the project planning process
well before design begins. During the proposal stage,
we use classic work breakdown structure techniques
to identify tasks, mandatory information, and required
interface with the client as well as other design
team members. Once a project is underway, lists
are developed in a collaborative manner documenting
those items required or to be developed
by JanCom through programming meetings, site tours,
or detailed inventories of existing systems and
facilities. These lists become checklists used throughout
the design process and are used during the planning
process as well as during Quality
Assurance Reviews at the conclusion of each
project phase.
New building or renovation projects require unique
steps to ensure that technology systems are integrated
with related disciplines. Space and pathway requirements
must be established to ensure adequacy and this
must be accomplished early in the project to minimize
redesign by the Architect. Electrical and mechanical
loads must be quantified so that building services
and systems are sized properly -- again, early
in the process to minimize redesign or delay of
custom fabricated or long lead time major equipment
purchases.
Detail and thoroughness result from a highly collaborative
involvement with the design team. The level of detail
and thoroughness that JanCom provides results in
reduced construction costs and change orders. Advantages
inherent in the competitive bid process are maximized
when qualified contractors base their bids upon
highly detailed and coordinated construction documents.
JanCom understands these processes and has proven
time and again that complete and thorough documents
result in reduced construction costs as well as
a manageable construction process.
Project construction and systems implementation
is a unique process with it's own set of objectives,
participants, and pressures. JanCom realizes the
importance of monitoring and objectively reporting
construction activities. Beginning with the bid
process, JanCom remains involved and acts as a resource
to the Owner, Design team, General Contractor, and
his specialty subcontractors.
The process of careful planning and design, thorough
bidding and construction documents, the selection
of qualified vendors and installers, construction
observation, review of testing procedures and results,
final acceptance, and review of project closeout
documents result in another successful JanCom technology
project.
